Our Team

John Seryak, MS, PE

John is principal and lead engineer of Go Sustainable Energy. He has received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, is a licensed Professional Engineer, a Department of Energy (DOE) Pumping Systems Energy Expert, and an instructor for three Building Operator Certification courses.

Prior to founding Go Sustainable Energy, John served as a project engineer and project manager for an energy efficiency consulting firm in the New England and New York region, working with many state and utility energy efficiency programs.

John was educated at the University of Dayton (UD). His graduate degree had a concentration in Thermodynamics and Fluids, and his thesis research was on residential energy use. Throughout his Master's tenure, John worked in the UD Industrial Assessment Center, participating in over 60 industrial energy assessments. John served as a teaching assistant and research assistant in support of the UD/EPA Average Daily Temperature Archive. Other research interests included independent studies in Biological Thermodynamics and Sustainable Manufacturing.

John actively participates in the advancement of energy efficiency analysis techniques and methods, publishing and presenting frequently in energy efficiency conference proceedings. He has authored papers for the American Conference for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Summer Study on Industry conference, ACEEE Summer Study on Buildings conference, Industrial Energy Technology Conference, American Solar Energy Society Annual conference, Greening of the Campus conference and International Conference for Enhanced Building Operation conference. John has also co-authored a journal article for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Technical Papers.
