Q guides Go’s hospital energy management teams, advising others as they lead our clients in the pursuit of energy and cost savings. Q has aided health care systems’ prioritization, identification, and execution of energy efficiency opportunities. Furthermore, he has assisted in setting goals and targets to help health care facilities track progress towards overall reduction of energy use. Ongoing engagement with health care utility systems allows our team to be significantly more effective and improves the cost of health care.

Q is also one of Go’s most seasoned energy engineers with specialization in refrigeration, chilled water, HVAC, and compressed air systems. He has extensive energy auditing and measurement and verification (M&V) experience, especially for industrial facilities and large commercial systems. His data analysis and simulation skills are critical to our successful interaction with complex energy using systems. Q’s understanding of process cooling, industrial refrigeration and compressed air systems has also allowed him to develop multiple custom system and energy simulation tools for our team.

Q’s shares his experience through guidance and mentorship of our staff. He designs and delivers internal technical trainings on complex energy topics. He collaborates with our Engineering Development team to understand what skills and training are needed for staff as they develop in their careers. He also guides staff and teams as they navigate client relationships and make significant decisions.

Q is passionate about optimization and believes that energy efficiency is key to a sustainable future, globally. It is a critical first step in tackling carbon related climate issues followed by advanced energy technologies and renewable energy. Q shares this passion and his knowledge by frequently publishing technical papers published to ACEEE, AEE ASHRAE, and other conferences and journals in the field of energy. He has authored or co-authored twelve publications on topics including energy-efficiency in industrial refrigeration and large HVAC systems, motor and v-belt energy efficiency, M&V for industrial systems, etc. He is also a member of ASHRAE’s Guideline 14 committee.

Q’s love for cars allows him to be our team’s resident car mechanic. He also loves driving around the country to visit interesting cities and historic sites. Q is fascinated by nature and how it finds a way to tackle most of the complex issues that exist on the planet. Q also loves working with the latest tech in both his personal and professional life.
