Rohullah Arya
Rohullah is a member of Go’s Distributed Energy Resources team, advising on renewable energy, demand response, energy storage, and grid interactive technologies projects. His electrical engineering focus, his experience designing utility grid-scale renewable energy systems, and his passion for building energy efficiency and zero energy buildings aid our clients as they navigate the complexity of decarbonizing their portfolios.
Rohullah earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Kabul University and spent five years working with various organizations, including the Afghanistan’s national utility company. There, he assisted in regional cooperation efforts aimed at integrating renewable energy into the power network among Central Asian countries. He also collaborated in the development of a roadmap for cross-border electric grid interconnection and renewable energy integration, which he hopes will pave the way for future trade of renewable energy in the region. Subsequently, through his work with Ministry of Energy and Energy Service Regulatory Authority, Rohullah led energy programs and projects aimed at supporting national energy policy and ensuring affordable and equitable energy access for the Afghan people. These experiences and his passion for continued education led Rohullah to earn a Fulbright Scholarship to attend the University of Dayton, where he earned a Master of Science in Renewable and Clean Energy.
Outside of work, Rohullah actively connects with professional organizations to stay ahead of the curve in his field. Soccer is his go-to for staying active and fostering camaraderie with friends. At home, his three young daughters fill his life with joy and laughter, making every moment special.
